Install My scanner on Windows 7. EPSON PERFECTION 1260. There is a driver here, but ONLY 32-bit. If you are running Windows 7 64-bit. Click to expand.I doubt these will work. Neither one is for my scanner, and neither one is for Windows 7. But thanks for the thought. I will try the first link, the Vista 64bit driver, just for the fun of it, but I'm fairly sure it won't work. My scanner is explicitly listed as not compatible with Windows 7 64bit. I keep hoping there is some third-party driver that is freeware. There are third-party software programs that will run my scanner in Windows 7 64bit, but they want $40 for them. I can buy a new Canon scanner for around $60 so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for me to go that route. It I could get a program like that for free, on the other hand, it would be worth trying. The only reason I didn't throw it out was that it had a slide and negative adapter. Then bought a Canon MP610 a year ago, which was the best thing I have done for a long time. The scanner is fast, the printing (I make a lot of cards) is excellent. The software is easy to use. It prints on printable CDs and it wasn't expensive. Hope this is of use Grenou. I agree with you, the Epson Perfection 1200 is a bitch to use. It is as slow as cold molasses, and the software supplied by Epson was crap. I had to uninstall everything but the Epson Twain 5 driver (which I couldn't do without) and scan directly into CorelDraw. That worked for years for me. But with this upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit, CorelDraw doesn't install (the version I have) and the Epson scanner doesn't scan. No way I will ever buy another Epson product. Not only was their scanner slow and annoying to try to use, but their ink was so expensive, when I bought a new Epson inkjet a few years ago, and the original ink cartridges ran one (one of them), I decided to throw the inkjet away rather than buy new ink for it, the ink was that expensive. I put the practically new Epson inkjet out at the curb and switched to a Samsung laser, and have been happily printing ever since. No more Epson junk for me. That company cares nothing for its customers. I agree with you, the Epson Perfection 1200 is a bitch to use. It is as slow as cold molasses, and the software supplied by Epson was crap.
